Homework

At Houghton Regis Academy we are committed to ensuring that all pupils are provided with learning opportunities that develop skills, strengthen knowledge and deepen understanding so that they achieve their potential and become lifelong learners. We understand that parents and carers value the setting of high-quality work for completion at home to support the learning that has taken place in lessons.

We believe that homework and independent study is very important to ensure that students practice and reinforce what has been done in lessons however we are keen to promote a work-life balance for the students. Homework will have a focus on quality rather than quantity. At Key Stage 3 students will receive one homework per week from subjects and students should spend approximately two hours on their homework.
