Welcome from the Principal
I am delighted to introduce you to the Houghton Regis Academy, I am proud to be the Principal of this new and growing secondary educational centre.
Our aims are simple: we offer a first class education to all of our young people. We want them to flourish both socially and academically, to grow into being the best they can be. We will seek to develop our young people into confident, articulate and well-rounded young adults. Through high quality teaching and exceptional pastoral care we aim to prepare our young men and women to face the challenges of higher education, high quality employment and the future careers of their choice.
I am lucky to have a high quality team of committed and professional teachers and support staff who all share in my vision to see this Academy offering the very best to the young people of this community. Our final year with the primary phase saw us achieving wonderful results and truly remarkable progress for our pupils. We will continue this tradition of high expectations through to success for our Key Stage 4 pupils. We set challenging targets for all pupils and we help each individual to achieve a level of personal success. Progress is monitored carefully and, where necessary, we intervene to offer support and ensure that each child is on track to achieve their goals.
Our expectations are high in all aspects of Academy life. We demand impeccable standards of behaviour and discipline. Pupils are expected to dress smartly in the academy uniform; to be polite and be prepared to engage in their learning. We encourage pupils to take responsibility and develop their leadership skills. We have an active pupil parliament that leads projects of real value and we allow our pupils to have a strong voice as we travel together to achieve our shared aims.
Our Academy is a calm, well-ordered and friendly environment. Pupils are happy and confident and we welcome visitors to come, look round and meet the pupils and staff.
I hope you find this website interesting and informative and I look forward to meeting you in the future.
